Honda recalls 81,000 Accords- Take that Toyota!!!!

http://www.businessweek.com/ap/finan.../D8MN7RVG0.htm

Honda said the sensor wire could break and cause the air bag warning light to be illuminated and prevent the sensor from working properly. When the sensor fails, the air bag system automatically moves to full inflation pressure, which could increase the risk of injury for smaller drivers in a frontal crash, the Japanese automaker said.

Post Not to be outdone by honda toyota to recall 533,000 Sequoias, Tundras

The automaker said there was a possibility of excessive wear to a front suspension lower ball joint that could make it difficult to steer the vehicle and stay in the center of the lane.

Question

Is it bad for me to be pleased, when the foreign brands have problems?

It depends on how you guys interpret this.
It sounds like those cars come with an airbag that adjusts due to that person's weight.
The defect causes the airbag to not adjust and have just one setting.
Tons of cars/trucks have only one airbag setting.

Perhaps, but don't think its going to change much either way. Minor problems like this dont really resonate in the consumers mind. Most people don't know about all Toyota's recalls because they aren't fatal issues...

Now Im sure everyone could tell you about how Explorers and Firestone tires are prone to doing cartwheels. Or how Super Dutys are prone to spontaneously combust...

Which bothers you guys/gals more...

Going back to the dealer about a recall notice you got in the mail

OR

Going back to the dealer multiple times because "something is wrong with my new car."

That's what I thought! Then what about Americans who are pleased when the American brands have problems, and openly take jabs at them, every chance they get?

Well put.

They all have problems, some way more than others, but it's how they deal (or don't deal) with them that sets them apart.

I believe all new cars (within the last 2-3 years) have a high/low setting based on occupant weight. Passenger side won't even inflate until there is enough weight in the seat (usually ~100lbs
