There are a few more similar ones... Interesting glamor shots for the Indy 500... first and last Camaros.

You know................all these first gen appearences everywhere can not be just a coincedence.
Does all this mean that a definate heavily-1st-gen-based (aka-retro) 5th gen is on the way, or just something else?

I agree though, it can't just be a coincidence with all these 1st gens all over GM promos.

But, to me, it's not just the 67 Camaro.... it's the fact that the 2002 Camaro is there too... first and last.
Plus, the fact that the pics weren't just snapped at the track, but were snapped with the 2004 pace car....

I think the 2002 car is the most interesting. The pace car Corvette is simple, and any 1st gen Camaro is a collector's favorite so it seems a natural for any PR oportunities. I wouldn't put too much stock in these pics and the commercials relating to any hint of a 1st gen heavy influence on the next car.
At least I'm really hoping I'm wrong.
The 2002 in there is interesting. What in the grand sceme of things to those outside 'Camaro World' would be it's significance? I can't think of one. It's not a collectors item yet (it isn't event the anniversary car), nor a modified specialty vehicle (read:ZL1) It's just a run of the mill (don't flame me for that) silver SS. Even the color is inconspicuous.
Interesting indeed. Only time will tell if this is anything significant....

The central question everyone is getting to is why would GM, in 2004, 2 yrs after they ended Camaro production and have announced no "official" plans for its return, still be shooting promo photos with a dead car in the shots?
We can only leap to a conclusion, which is just speculation, but it would seem the answer is clearly that something is in the works, and since we pretty much know it is already thanks to the work of GuionM and others, this is just further confirmation.

We all have to admit that there has been an large amount of Camaro info since the fall of the "wall". Its the fact that they used 2 Camaros. Now, if there was a 2nd and third there... then it would be easy to say that yeah, the 5th gen is right around the corner.
