Has anyone seen what the mileage is for the 2.4L Malibu w/ the A6?

Recently, the LTZ has been made available w/ the LS/LT's 2.4L VVT 4cyl, but the LTZ gets the A6, while the lesser cars still gets the A4. The A4 gets 22/30, but I can't find the A6's mileage anywhere w/ the 2.4L. I checked Chevrolet.com, Fueleconomy.gov, and no luck. Anyone know the mileage off the top of their head for the 2.4L A6?

So 22/32?

That's pretty good. What is the Cobalt XFE manual... 25/36? So you get the Malibu and only drop 10-15%... not too bad.

Only problem I have with it is that they charge extra money for the 6-speed auto when the base alternative is a class trailing 4-speed auto.

Yes, it's 22/32. In the LTZ, the A6 is standard, but I can't quite figure out if the 4cyl downgrade is a no cost option or not. At first glance, there appears to be no difference between the 4 and 6 cyl, which is a shame, but I found one and saw on the sticker that there was something like a $500-$1000 price reduction based on the 4 cyl package group (which gets you other things besides the 4cyl, different wheels and exhaust for example) which would seem to lower the price a bit.

LTZ is standard with the 2.4/6spd auto. You can upgrade to the 3.6/6 which gets you 18 inch wheels. Base 2.4/6 LTZ gets unqiue 17 inch wheels.

Go to Chevy site and build a Malibu LTZ. It will offer a 4cyl 6A combo.

Its a spring package to help intergrate the late 08's to the 09's. The LTZ's MSRP still includes the cost for the 3.6.
I figure that the 2.4/6 combo will be about 1500-2k less.

While it's not listed on Chevrolet.com, the spring 4 Cylinder package for the LTZ (package PDZ) is a $1200 credit vs. the 3.6. They have to give you something in trade for two cylinders, 18" wheels and an exhaust pipe

I just double-checked. You're right. That's what they're officially listing now. The $1200 figure was what I got when I asked originally and was told "about $1200."
