Half of GM's board to be replaced.

No he doesn't but we need someone that gets it and understands what people want, he isn't insulated by layers of bueracracy from the buyer liek the GM board has been forever. You can talk to Scott and he will listen to your ideas, he cares about the customer. That's definitely the kind of guy they need in there!
Be careful of what you wish for. IMO this is a bad move. As a previous poster said this is just a way for Obama to get his people on the board. I find it unlikely that Obama is a fan of cars like the camaro. He has stated many times GM needs small cars.
An even bigger concern is that the Feds now want to swap the loans for an equity stack in GM. http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/20...g/ad9_aotwnbnq
GM is essentially going to be a government ran company when the dust settles.
Keep in mind the only business Obama likes, is the one he has control over!!!

You can see how bankruptcy is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative for GM.
Good move.
The previous (current) board was a failure no matter which way you look at it.
Whether the move is political or not, at least the moves are an attempt to make GM (or whatever the new entity will be called) profitable and sustainable. Something that the old guard couldn't accomplish during its lengthy reign.
I'm looking at the glass half full right now.
