(AU=Australian Dollars/US=US Dollars)
1 US gallon = 3.79 liters
$1.00AU = $0.69US (as of this afternoon)
$0.90AU per liter X 3.79 liters per gallon = $3.41AU per gallon
$3.41AU X $0.69US = 2.353
So... the price of gas in Australia is roughly 2.35/gallon
What that means, at least to us here in California, is that although crude oil is sold at the same going price around the world, and despite paying monsterously more gasoline taxes in Australia than we'd tolerate here in the US, the price per gallon there is barely more than we pay here in California!

In Australia, fuel tax money goes toward government programs. Where the h*ll does our excess money from gas go?

On the other hand, they should be able to shift between 50 and 200 per year in ole Blighty. Since the steering wheel is already on the wrong side, it would seem to be workable. Still, they should expect to be outsold by TVR.

The UK will take no more than 500 monaros a year in its current spec.
a couple of points:
- Vauxhall boss kevin wale is holden's former director of marketing.
- He's keen to establish the monaro name ahead of the next gen monaro, especially as he's also keen on RWD large cars off the same platform
- 500 cars is the maximum he can sell under the UK's low volume import regs
- more than 500 cars a year and the whole thing comes under the auspices of the EU, and Brussels won't like what it finds under the Monaro. It'd cost too much to get up to their preferred spec at volumes greater than 500, so 500 it will be.
