As is the GTO.

Both were "sent off" to Holden @ the same time. Even still the Camaro "team" *lets dodge what the GTO team may say* it never stopped work at all. It was shifted to "another part" of RWD.

GM has so much more RWD coming than Camaro, GTO, Impala, Monte Carlo.......2010 is going to be a nut buster for people.

The Chevelle project looks fine.....doesnt it.

Re: GTO poll.

The fact is the GTO has always been a Muscle car.

True the GTO has been a option package(on either the Tempest, Ventura, or Lemans) for most of it's original run.

It will be a coupe design, it always has been.
The GTO was/and still is the first original Muscle Car.

Re: GTO poll.

Can't vote- both options are something I simply can't accept.

Fortunately, I won't have to. There will be a coupe and a sedan on Zeta-lite for Pontiac. GTO will be the highest level of the coupe and all will be right with the world.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

By that, if you mean the transfer for engineering, of an architecture which might get a variation - of which one day - a GTO could be based on....then okay.

But last week's comments by Lutz, were the first indication of life for the GTO in 15 months....whatever form it takes.

We'll know before summer is done.

And I stand by what I say. He will never say something that is not going to happen.

I don't care what anybody hears or reads, Zeta will be here before anybody knows or expects it in a plant that is ducking the radar.

I will say *limited runs*...take it as you will.

Re: GTO poll.

Hard choice. Ive thought the GTO would be the reskinned Camaro. I dont realy like the idea of a firebird or GTO being identical again and directly competing. Is the 4 Dr like the Saturn or RX8?

Re: GTO poll.

We'll know more by this summer I expect, but it's pretty obvious that management wants this four door coupe for Pontiac. This proposal is different than the G8 which was cancelled last year. That car would have been a clone of the VE Commodore. This 4 door coupe envisions completely different styling.

Don't think RX8 or Charger...think more like CLS. Sounds cool to me.

If I had to get a more practical coupe, the GTO is something I would seriously look at.
If Impala and Grand Prix ever go RWD then it would be cool for the GTO to be a 2-door version of that. That would be appropriate to me and history too kinda.

Re: GTO poll.

On the other hand neither a 4-door GTO, nor a Camaro-based GTO will affect my next Camaro purchase. lol

Yeah, me too. I wouldn't even consider a GTO if it were nothing more than a restyled Camaro. I'd rather get the real Camaro.

But in addition to that, I'm also going to eventually need something larger. The Impala could be it. Or a Pontiac 4 door coupe. I guess whichever is sportier and cooler. I think a 4 door coupe (in the same vein as a CLS) called GTO, would as a matter of course, have the sportiness and coolness I'd want.

Not trying to complicate things but CLS and Charger seem the same idea executed differently. CLS being a Oldsmobile buble type slant back that extends to the trunk slanted down(cant remember the Olds model) and Charger being a semi retro charger fast back with flat trunk. Both having the doors, youre not supposed to notice.

If your saying it would be the CLS greenhouse to the Camaro trunk that could be cool but Im having trouble picturing it. What I keep seeing in my head is a charger type with a CLS greenhouse and GTO front end.

Same idea as the Olds Aurora

If so I cant imagine a GTO with the trunk slanted down like that so it would probably be straight acorss like the Current GTO 64 GTO or the Camaro Concept.

If you mean just the CLS Green house I think it could be cool but I may not be understanding.

EDITED to add: ok the 69 did have a pretty good slope on it. I guess I see what you mean.
