Didn't the first W-car come out in '88?

The rear suspension on the 88-96 models was different. They had a single leaf in the back similar to the C4.

D@mn that single rear leaf suspension! I used to own a 95 GTP, loved the car but its days were numbered when I bought the TA.

Winter driving as well? I always drive rear wheeled vehicles in the coldest of winters. You just got to know how to drive it.

So my vote, GTO for sure (even thoguh I probably wouldn't drive it in the winter )

This thread mad me laugh out loud....it's like saying Connie Chung and Christina Agulirra are direct competitors because they both are the same size and can talk.

It is pretty funny isn't it. Well that's your typical SS what can I say.
It's never been so easy getting your point across.

I just though I'd throw this in. Another good reason these two should be compared is name recognition. I know this is a big argument around here so don't tell me this is not a valid reason.

Valid reason huh?

Rosie O'Donnell & Christina Agulirra have high name recognition. You wanna compare them as well?

I think Connie Chug fits better with the MCSS.

I have to go with GTO, I like the MCSS styling but I don't like the drivetrain for performance coupe. The 3.8 S/C is a good running pkg. Before I bought my Z I test drove some Grand Prix GTP 2-doors. I really liked the GTP. But what sold me on the Z was V8 torque and M6.
The ImpalaSS and MCSS should have came with the 3800 series III 260hp engine, and tap-shift

The GTO is much more desireable to me. 350hp LS1, M6, IRS
Now just suppose the MCSS was RWD, LS1, M6, & IRS that would be a hard desision.

It could have been done IMO.
