Gto?
Re: Gto?
Its been talked about here for quite some time the GTO will not be returning after the 2006 model year, however I think it has little to do with the Camaro and more to do with the fact that its chassis is being discontinued. Other than that I have no clue if it will return or not.
Re: Gto?
Whoa whoa whoa....good ridence? Praying its dead? Come on guys have any of you driven a goat yet? I have, and the ONLY thing I'm waiting for to get one is my nephew being able to save enough to buy my Z. The GTO is with out a doubt a huge step up to any stock F-body. You will not find a car with its quality, interior styling, power, and classy looks for the price anywhere. I'll concede that it could have more aggressive lines, but my God it is an awesome vehicle for the money. I absolutely cannot wait till I have one in my driveway in the next couple of months. The only thing I will miss is the T-tops. Ya gotta drive it man. If ya have and still dont like it thats cool, but if you have not.....ya cant knock it.

Wow. Those are pretty lame comments.

Even if you don't like that car... why would anyone be HAPPY that it goes away?

Pretty lame, folks.

Re: Gto?
For all the people wanting it dead, realize you will have NO entry level sports car with a modern design without the GTO.
You have modern and expensive(vette) or cheaper and retro(camaro)
Pontiac is the performance division. I want a better style GTO like the rest of you but I sure as heck don't want it dead.

Not me. We don't see them very often around here (Portland, OR). Just last week, I was driving and one passed me. I have to say, it was *very* nice looking. From all angles. I couldn't hear it over my Borla exhaust, so I can't comment on the sound
I hope they stick around for a while...it would be pretty weak if Pontiac, the performance division, didn't have a rwd V8 in their line up.
I haven't driven one yet, but I've sat in them and the interior is nice. Many notches above an fbod. There's a certain class to the GTO.
Its only drawback is the price + the sickening dealer markup. Dealers were marking them up here locally into the $40k region. No wonder they didn't sell. I looked at one before I got the Vette, and the dealer wouldn't even let me test drive it.
Re: Gto?
I'll tell you guys just like I tell guys at work.....ya HAVE to drive it. Once you have been behind the wheel, you'll have an SEG for weeks. Its an amazing machine. And actually one of the things I like about it is the fact that there are so few on the road. Mustangs are a dime a dozen...****....my wife has an 04 GT, and I cant stand that car. Its uncomfortable, it has cheap looking interior, and road bumps feel like they'll rattle your teeth out.
Pontiac and GM has done a terrible job marketing this car. It really does out class anything on the road today for the $$ though, and should be selling well. I have not read about or talked to anyone who has driven it who has come away with anything but an OMG attitude towards it.
