It is no rumor. If you purchased the truck before the "recall" date, you get 150% of KBB evaluated at the "Excellent" condition. If you purchased it after the recall date you get your purchase price.

Exclamation

The first three years I owned the truck, it spent many miles wheeling the woods of New England...

Then once I got that out of my system, the Fisher snow plow was mounted, and the abuse continued...

I towed this truck in on March 26th because a week prior, I pulled the head due to a possible cracked 2.7 head... Sure as ****, it was toast... There wasn't a straight peice of sheet metal, all my CVs were busted, the exhaust manifold was in 3 pieces, tranny seals were leaking and the oil hadn't been changed in some 12,000 miles...

With 175,000 miles on the odometer, last Saturday, I walked into the dealer, sat down, signed some paperwork and the guy from ISG slid a check over to me in the amount of $15,247.50... I got up walked out, and sat back into my new-to-me Z28 and left...

I'm far from a brand basher, and all I can say is that from my personal experience never was I left stranded on the side of the road by my Tacoma... In the end, I was lucky that this rust issue came about... I seriously won the lottery, since my new daily driver kicks serious ***!

Honestly, if I owned a Tacoma with frame rot issues, Toyota is doing such a good job dealing with this, that I couldn't picture myself being pissed off about it.
