Good thing they have Brembos...
Good thing they have Brembos...
From Mark Phelan's article ("SRT8 Models Pack the Power", Detroit Free Press)about the SRT-8 LX cars:
Standing quarter mile in 11 seconds eh? Hit 100 mph? Good thing they come with Brembos, just like Ferrari... (not to mention Cadillac, Nissan, Infinity).
:blah:
In addition to the bigger engines, which generate 80 horsepower more than the 5.7-liter Hemi, the SRT8s boast many other performance upgrades.
If you can accelerate from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in less than 5 seconds, turn the standing quarter mile in about 11 and hit 100 m.p.h., you want serious brakes, and the SRT8s offer bigger rotors and four-piston calipers from performance specialist Brembo, the Italian supplier whose other customers include Ferrari.

Actually the SRT*'s braking is phenominal for a car of that weight.....hell even for a smaller car. His numbers are completely idiotic though. But it sounds to the average guy that he knows what he is talking about.

Re: Good thing they have Brembos...
I think the SRT-8 is awesome, but 11 second quarter mile times are pretty optimistic.
Depending on how broken in the motor is (the computer will not let the car reach full potential till properly broken in) and which model (300, Magnum, or Charger) the 1/4 mile times seem to be spread from 12.5 to 13.2 seconds at between 104 to 110 from what I've seen so far.
For comparison, the 5.7 hemis seem to run a still impressive sub 14 at 100+

If I remember right, the brakes are ~12.8" up front, and ~11.8" out back.
Re: Good thing they have Brembos...
A GXP flat hauls you down. I don't know what the 60-0 is, but those brakes are great. The specs don't sound as good as the Charger's, but then again it weighs 600 lbs less too
