Correct! The '84 with Crossfire Injection (a fancy name for thottle body injection) had a massive 205hp.

From what I understand, the Gen V wont look much different then a Gen III or IV. It will use the new L92 cylinder head design. Direct injection will be available. Im sure that VVT will return with maybe an upgrade?
My question is this talk of smaller engines using DI to maintain performance levels while getting much better gas milage? Will we see a wider range of small displacement V8s below 6 liters? There is that talk of a DOHC version of the engine displacing 6.2 liters. I wonder what will come of that? Let's see. A 6.2 with MPFI and OHV makes 436hp. What happens with SIDI and DOHC? It sounds like we'll have some fun before CAFE hits!

I think you'll see turbo 4s and 6s instead of small V8s, but we'll see....

Wow, I did not know that. That engine put out a lot of power compared to the OHV version too.

Not quite the same, but diesels (e.g. Duramax and the Powerstroke)commonly are 4 valve per cylinder pushrod engines.

Yes but they only see a little less than half the RPMs that gas engines do.

I don't think the dogbones and those tall skinny rockers would do much good at 7k.
