That being said...I don't know that the Kappa cars have the true enthusiast base of say a Miata.
I agree about the Miata comment. I was actually in the market for a RWD import when the Miata first came out. However they hadn't hit the lots yet and the dealer was trying to push me into a "used" RX7 convertible. Instead I bought a 240SX. Had I known the MX-5 was going to take off like it did, I would have waited two weeks (the dealer was offering it to me at MSRP) and turned around and sold it for double what I purchased it for. (Yes they were being marked up that much initially.) But then hindsight is 20/20.

You're right though, I don't think the Kappa cars have taken off with sportscar enthusiasts like the Miata did/has. Therefore it may not be harmed by a shift to FWD forced by economics. Afterall Chrysler is moving forward with the Hornet on FWD, no? I'd rather see that happen than the car completely killed off due to lack of a viable and cost-effective platform.

Personally, I would only ever consider a RWD version. The comment was just throwing it out there to see what sticks.

Convertible V6 Mustang with all the other options and a base interior

Dang might have to hit Ford's website and see if that's doable? The IUP goes along way toward fixing things (should be standard) I didn't realize how wretched the base interior was until I worked on a base V6 car one day.
