What happened to the smooth look, like on the Envoy? This thing reminds me of the Avalanche...

As I hear it, all the new GMC models will be a lot more edgier like the concept trucks that GMC has.

Yes, but there's a fine line between edgy and just plain ugly. Guess which side of the line I think the Canyon is on...

Oh, your still buying a Chevy, but with a GMC grille insert. MUAHAHA

This is horrible. They should have commited to a GMC version from the begining, and stuck with its own look (terra influenced).
This is a pretty bad last minute "save face" model.

The only reason, from what I've read, that GMC is even getting a version of the Colorado is because the GMC dealers were pissed that they weren't going to have an entry level truck to sell... and who can blame them?

GM's idea was that the Colorado was too small to project GMC's "Professional Grade" marketing image. ... see this is how the stupidity starts... GM's TRUCK division... not having a small ro midsize truck is ridiculous. At least the dealer's laid into them, and at least they responded.

Thumbs up

IMO i dont really think it looks half bad....a little bit too boxy but I think thats just from a concept drawing..the sides actually kind of looks like the styling that the Dodge Ram has

To me it looks quite good, but I want to see the real thing, when more accurate judgment will be passed.

Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, right?

I thought that Colorado will be replacing S10 pickup? That's what I came across in Road&Track, where they also write that GM had to get the name out of VW.

Is S10 mid-size truck? It looks kinda small for mid-size.

Ted,
The fact of the matter is the trucks are identical under the skin. I wouldn't call one a Chevy or GMC under the skin. It's a GM platform (GMT3xx (I can't remember the designation for this vehicle. I'll have to check at work.) with either a Chevy or GMC body on it.
And to be closer to reality, I think it's probably more Isuzu than GM from what I understand.

But it comes down to that pesky brand loyalty thing again. I can't bring myself to putting a bow-tie in the garage.
It's Pontiac cars and GMC trucks or nothing.
