GM V8 development postponed? Says who?

The XTS may use the next generation small block V8 that debuts next year.

It appears that GM is readying itself for a confrontation with the new gen Ford powertrains. How timely...

Where will it be made?

GM is shutting virtually all of it's V8 lines in North America.

Name one that will stay open after next year............

For the record I've always said that GM must have a V8 available for Cadillac. It's a crime for it not to at least be an option.

Even more interesting is if the C6 will get a 3rd base V8.

I wonder if they will still use the LS name or it the new engines will get a new name like the LT1 to LS1 generation.

( gen 4 should have been gen 3.1)

That doesn't seem very likely.

You want to build a truck V8 on the same line as a small block Cadillac motor?

Might want to rethink that.

But isn't it 10 times better than talking about bankruptcy law?

Make that 100 times better!

Branden, is that in reference to the Gen V or other stuff brought up in this thread?

Yes - in 2003, lots of folks were talking about 2005 or 2006.....don't think anyone was thinking 2009 as a 2010 (and if they were, they certainly weren't thinking it out loud).
