Yup. 220HP out of a 3.5L is a fine amount of power (more than all last gen trucks) but when people ask if it has a V6 and I tell them it is a 5cyl. they still look at me as if I bought a 4cyl. Corvette.

The engine is fine for trucks under 4000lbs. but even if they add direct injection and up displacement to 3.7L and out put is 260HP people are going to still be put off by the #5. It is an image problem that a nice V8 would solve best. Other than adding some better quality interior material and hood struts instead of the prop rod there is nothing else I'd change about the truck. (Actually I'd like a factory remote starter too)

I'm not THAT good a sales manager...

It is very, very odd to be hucking someone else's product than GM, after six years of living and dying with GM. Its nice to have products people are actively seeking, but even "we" (I use that term loosely, because I am not a we as far as I'm concerned ) have some awful gaps in our lineup. The Stratus and Sebring should have been replaced 3 years ago...the Liberty is still selling ok, but is getting old and has an awful interior...the Commander doesn't seem to be catching on as well as we would like...so DCX has its issues as well.

Time will tell how it all works out for any of the U.S. makes...

Honda and Toyota are kicking GMs azz. Civic is car of the year and Toyota just released the all new 07 Camry. GM has about 24% of the US market in March.

Yeah, what was GM thinking with 24% market share to Toyota's 17%. Toyota sure is winning that one.

I know that you know the trend is what's important here. It's a pretty scary line chart.

Well, you are getting your Sebring this year, and your Liberty next year. So quit complaining!!

I'll heartily recommend the Impala.... for obvious reasons.

I know but at the moment GM is still on top by quite a margin, even if Toyota continues to chew its way up the market share chart it will take it a few years to reach GM. My point is the guy was saying that Toyota has already won when in reality they haven't.

Look at the cars of the year in the past, it isn't exactly a big deal.
