Guys, I wouldn't freak out just yet...it said $500-1,500 for cars ON LOTS OVER 125 DAYS...

Not every model...

Not even a lot of cars...

Not $4k off...

Has anyone checked Chevy's website lately? $0 on Aveo. $0 on Cobalt. $750 on Malibu. $0 on Impala. $0 on MC.

Or Pontiac? $0 on Vibe. $500 on G6. $0 on Grand Prix. $0 or $500 on Torrent. $0 on GTO.

When was the last time you saw THAT????

Although I think new car prices are absurd to begin with when they cost 1/3 the price of a house
I'd love to buy a house where you live then...$150k gets barely a starter house around here!

The midwest is where it's at. Infact, I am leaving Denver for the MW in 3 weeks. Pretty excited to be coming back after far too long out here.

Welcome to the Midwest man.

I had my house built BRAND NEW for $130,000. It sits on 1/4 Acre in a Subdivision. 2,336 sq ft, 4bdrm, two story house. 1/2 Level brick. Nice appliances. It's not a super upscale neighborhood, or house for that matter. Mostly Middle Class.

Of coarse people make less out here as well. Median Income in our town is about $35k. I make about double that, but I like small towns, and with double the median income, I can live quite well. Never been a person for High Class Neighborhoods, I'm too down to earth and wouldn't like the people on either side of me, hehe...

Oh, and not to steer the thread: I think that this isn't all that bad. They'd be STUPID NEVER to have a sale again. Just doin't make them so crazy and that appears to be what they have done. I'm not concerned and maybe I can save a few bucks on something?

Good for me.

Just out of curiosity... how many people who don't like the rebates have said "oh, no thanks" when they go buy a new vehicle?

I'm gonna guess none.
I purchased my Impala during this event last year and loved it so yeah... I didn't turn it down and even though I wanted to wait for a new Av maybe next month is a better time?

I'm thinking with the new Av just released, old ones on the lots and the rebates I shoudl be able to pick up a nice one and save some $$$

I've been mulling the same exact thing..... the interior is a real sticking point for me on the 06 though...... and the new interior looks so nice.

Gonna be a tough choice if I end up with an Av.

FWIW... there are very nice deals to be had on 06 Av's right now... I had a very nice lease worked out when I turned in my GTO...... well........ that was before I got my wife the Envoy instead, and took her GTP since she never liked it much.

not to burst your bubbel because you are mostly right but...

Avalance:
$4,000 cash allowances
1.9% financing

Colorado, Trail Blazer, Uplander
$1,000
4.9%

Silverado:
$2,500
2.9%

Tahoe, Suburban:
$5,500
0.0%

And yes I know that most of this is due tothe new rollout of the trucks but it's still looking good for prices in that department!

That combined with mileage is are my greatest debates right now on if I buy an 07 or 06... it's a toughy, especially when I put on over a thousand miles a week! thsoe two items play a huge roll!

Keep in mind, though, that the full size trucks and SUV (everything on your list except Colorado, TrailBlazer, and Uplander at only a $1000 rebate) did NOT get the MSRP rollbacks that the other models got... I think Avalanche, for example, got rolled back a whopping $100 just so they could count it as one more model they reduced the price on...

They probably didn't want to roll back the GMT-800's MSRP for so they COULD continue drop these giant rebate numbers on them to clear them out easier since the GMT-900's are either here or right around the corner, depending on the model...

Ya, I also question whether I really need a full size or not myself.

I don't drive as much as you per week, but, it is still a concern.

That is about the only good thing I can think of from giving the new car to the wife. I can see if the Envoy can handle all of our hauling needs... if so, I may look toward something else... unless I just flat out really, really, really like the Avalanche that much more than anything else out there.

Yes, and chances are you can get them to give you an 05 for less than $28,000.

Somebody on the GTO board said they found new 05 auto GTOs for $26300 in Ohio and just a few hundred bux more in PA. I'm on it. My 04 lease is up in a couple months and I just cant see paying $5000 more for an 06.

Many americans are in their care about 1/3 of the time they are in their house.
