So, after 2 price cuts, and heavy rebates on them to supposedly clear them out for the redesign... the time is right to raise the price on them so the 2007's look like they are a better deal when they come out?

I don't get that either. I guess it is all a numbers game to make the 2007's look less expensive.

Basically 2006's will be getting an extra $500 worth of rebates soon.

My best friend just bought an '06 crew cab Silverado 2wd 4.8L V8, LS package (CD, keyless entry, etc) for $19.5 after rebate FWIW.

If I were him I would have waited for the new style Silverado... even if it meant I might have to pay 2-3 grand more for a mostly similar truck. Just so many improvements between the two.
