Re: GM Number Two in '06?
Well, we all knew it was a possibility...but I don't think anybody thought it be this soon!
I seen to remember a thread about this a few months ago and all the 'educated guesses' (sic) put it at or around 2010-2015.

Truthfully, I opened that article, saw the picture they used to represent Toyota, and verped (vomit burped). How in hell could a company that is envisioning "iSwings" be the #1? WTF is wrong with people?

Toyota will not pass GM in 06... I will promise that...
2006 will be an outstanding year for GM... the GMT900 will be a blow out...
GM has a 60% market share in SUV's... and if the SUV market is going to take a hit... GMT900 will hold its ground and GM will gain marketshare there...
then with the new accesorizing vehicles, GM might be able to take some more marketshare there... and with a few good advertising programs from GM... likely GM will be able to trump... but we can only hope...
many people have said that the marketing set to be used for the GMT900 is amazing, along with some other vehicles for 06...
my General managers went to Las Vegas a weekend ago, and everyone can attest 06, will be a big year for the General... all GM needs is growth in america and GM will gain about 5% world wide marketshare increase
ohh yea, and perception about toyota is slipping... so the momentum will be good...
saturn is showing huge growth, hummer, obviously, cadillac with its v-series should sell an additional 20k units next year at least, HHR sales whatever they produce will sell, impala's will probably be a hit, buick is growing in sales, pontiac is getting some awesome vehicles like the solstice...
Toyota cant forcast what GM has in its corner, they can forcast based on growth and losses... and GM's had tremendous capablities right now, lets hope it's managed correctly

Are you really wanting to bank the future on SUV's and big trucks right now?
And besides, though I agree that GM has some wonderful vehicles on the way, you don't think Toyota is in static limbo do you? They are designing and pioneering too, maybe in places and markets that are not SUV and truck dominant.
Word of advice from a battlefield general.. NEVER underestimate your enemy.

I paid 2.29 yesterday. It's going down.
3.00+ would be enough to make me worry about my SUV. Under that, naaaaa. And 2.29 is actually less then it was before the hurricanes so that's nice to see.
