Hopefully this will be a good thing.

"Under Wayne's leadership, GM Design has reasserted itself as one of the industry's most innovative, bold and original design houses," said GM chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner, in a statement.
Sure hope he's referring to product in the pipeline, I've seen no evidence of it in the showroom.

J.Mays seems to be a bit conservative in design direction looking at his design direction in general, while Welburn's is more expressive. I think GM's styling studio under him will be given more freedom to be expressive, somthing that Wayne Cherry served as the transition instrament (via the old to new GM).

Should be interesting to see some of GM's designed cars in a few years.

I too hope it's a good thing. He helped design the SSR, which mostly everyone on here hates though. The SSR doesn't bother me though.

Hopefully he'll be better at asserting some sort of personality with GM's passenger cars than Cherry was. The only pass-car success that I know of under Cherry's reign was the Vette.

I think that the ssr and belaire were waste's of development money. I did like the autonomy though.

I think the issue with the SSR is the price and the lack of power. Other than that, I think its a really cool design, and definately a head turner.
Agreed!

Ditto.

BTW, Eric, wasn't the current Corvette designed under the direction of Chuck Jordan?
