lets say i have an import sedan and i love it i've owned 2-3 of them and have been great.now i'm deciding on getting a new one so what does GM offer me to trade in their import on a new GM car? also the most important things i look for are:
1)bang for the buck
2)reliability
3)quality in fit,finish and materials.
4)long term value
5)warrenty.

 

Then GM is not what you are looking for.....

 

I'd say the Cobalt SS (likely to hold it's value better than the run of the mill, but still very good regular Cobalt).

Just delete that obnoxious wing.

BTW, my in-laws own a '97 Camary XLE( ), it's had a New: exhaust, radiator, struts, and keyless remotes...already. And the rear sits lower than the front. And still has a mysterious rattle up front somewhere, maybe strut bearing plates???

My 97 Bonneville SSE hasnt had any of that yet @ 150K miles I really dont see where people say GM cars are junk . Not counting my F-bodies which all have been radically altered , my GM daily drivers have all been cars Ive never had to worry about , outside of tires , brakes and othe rnormal stuff.

How much can u spend ? A guy at work just bought a 2005 grand prix . He let me drive it for a bit anf my thoughts have now kinda changed on them . I actually really really liked it . After looking at one everyday now , the only thing that screws this cars appearence up are the 16" wheels that really look like 14" hubcaps in those big wheel wells . Give it some nice ( read not GXP ) 18" wheels and the GP is a pretty sweet driver for under $24K typically ( around here anyways ) . Pick your deal wisely and you could end up with a GTP for $26-27K .

 

It depends on how important depriciation is to you.

I'd reccommend the Cobalt sedan in a heartbeat. I drove the "Classic" Malibu, and if the new one's heaps better, I'd also reccomend those as well.

Being non-performance GM vehicles, expect depriciation to drop like a ton of bricks. But they are screwed together right, have 100,000 miles service intervals, and probally the 1st cars GM has made in recent history that I'm betting will hold up as well or better than Toyotas and Hondas.

 

then how does GM get the news out?

 

Lower the STICKER price to the point where people HAVE to consider them. When enough are sold, the word will get out.
