GM confirms it's in talks with Kerkorian about board seat
Re: GM confirms it's in talks with Kerkorian about board seat
I'd like to think that Toyota wouldn't be willing to take on GM in its current shape, but this news is alarming. I get the feeling that some sort of merger/take over will happen. Of course I am just a college student and have absolutely no corporate merger expertise.

I think a merger would hurt GM and the domestic economy as a whole pretty significantly in the short-term, but help it over the long term become a greater part of the global economy.
We'd have Chrysler with the germans, GM with the Japanese, and then let's get Ford with the Koreans and we'll have ties to every segment of the globe. Almost kinda like diversifying your stock portfolio... much safer way of playing the financial game.
Though I've gotta say the way things have been going I'd actually expect GM to join teams with the Koreans, the way things are going... Ford has had decent ties with the japanese for quite a while, so they seem like a plausible match.
