I can't wait!!!!

I found this interesting
"GEN IV is 2 valve & 3 valve...
5.3 truck/suv 2 valve...
6.0 LS2 2 valve...
6.4 LS7 3 valve... "

I thought all Gen IVs would be 3 valves.

I'm really liking the sound of that LS7. There was a picture of the 3 valve heads in a recent issue of (I believe) Car Craft. Pretty interesting.

Looks like maybe the 3v and extra dislacement will probably go to the 500hp c6 we've been hearing about. The c6 and perhaps f-cars will probably end up getting the LS2.

That LS7 sure sounds like a monster.

Ah, he never quoted a source. Sounds like he is speculating (not that it ever happens...) I can tell you (again) that some of that post is not accurate... *shrug*

Well can you confirm nor deny that on Nov 5th production Gen IV engine will be at SEMA?

You've said for some time that the new Gen IV won't be a 3 valve design, or maybe just not a pushrod 3 valve design??

Will they continue producing the Gen III for a while after '05? It will be sad seeing the LS6 being phased out, not being applied to all the vehicles it could have shined in...

Good. Now parts for the LS1 will get cheaper hopefully.

What are the major changes made in the GenIV other than DoD and posible 3 valves?

I'm also very interested to see how the Gen IV 5.3L HP/Tq #s turn out. Right now the Ford 5.4L, Nissan 5.6L, and Dodge 5.7L V8s all put out better #s than the Chevys 5.3L. I wonder if Chevy can make it back on top with a smaller displacement.

Bah. These motors will be superior. I think the "base" LS2 may make you forget about LS6.

Doubtful. When there are no new ls1 comming out the market for parts will start shrinking. Investment in new parts will have to be recovered by selling to the same small (and shrinking) group.
