Future vehicles news bits from the competition.
What about the NY Auto Show, thats where it is isn't it, in April? The reason I asked about the 6.1 is bcuz I heard that DC got pissed about that pic that got out a few months ago of that motor. Also, heard from some that "claims" he works in DC said that he knew where the 6.1 was going, but refused to say anything, so take it for what it's worth.
Also, what ever happened to the rumor of the S/C Hemi going into some car?
Is there any saying of what is going to power the next SRT-10?

Well that caught me off guard.
Good post guionM. Lots of good stuff there.
Charger! ...Yummy!
Now that would be a very nice family sedan!
I'm still in love with the '99 Concept....I hope they don't put anything like a magnum front end on it. If they stay close to the '99 then it'll deserve a serious look!

As of December 1st, Chrysler Performance Vehicle Operations is now Chrysler Street & Racing Technology Chrysler's counterpart to Ford's Performance Group. I still tend to call them PVO though (I still think "R/T" belongs on Dodges).
Like FPG (http://www.fordperformancegroup.com/) it covers everything from NASCAR, to factory performance parts, to factory add-ons.
Unfortunately unlike FPG, they don't have a separate website.

The next COUGAR will have an IRS system in back, and SLA-type front suspension, basically a variation of the current LS system. (We must hope that they use the same mounting points used in the 05 Mustang so we can buy parts from Ford or junkyards to mod the Stangs.)
Cougar will have a much more refined interior than the Mustang, with less metal and more electronic goodies like GPS and a potential HUD system (concept anyways?). A traction control system may also be present, depending on developmental work and testing. Watch the Five-Hundred and next Linc-LS closely for hints.
I just hope Ford puts ENOUGH difference between the two so that the Cougar doesn't steal Mustang sales or vice-versa. I want to see the Cougar go after high-end sportscar seekers, while Mustang stays true to the economical class with a performance bias.
I think it's cool as heck that Mustang and Cougar become twins again like they did in 1967, only 40 years later.
Cool - that means an intro for the Cougar on it's 40th anniversary!
(Ooops... Did I say that?
Um no, I mean... uh-oh.!Which is the delete key again? Oh crap...

Apparently the Cougar (it seems that's what it's going to be called) is going to have the Mercury grill, and will share at least Mustangs doors. I believe it will share more than that with Mustang's exterior, but that's only my opinion, not a fact or rumor.
Seems Pony is on the job following this story.
Wrangler going away?
Well, crap I'm gonna have to make some serious money and save. I've always liked the Wrangler, esp the TJ (newset version). Just about the only suv I'd get, since you can actually take 'em off road. Then I'm gonna have to get a charger, or maybe a challenger (hemi either way
). Hmm.. maybe the only gm in my future is my current GTA??

There will also be some entry level Jeep in the mix as well that I forgot to mention. Think RAV-4 in size.

Our R&D facility displays many vehicle parts. Engine parts, intakes, body parts, spoilers, wheels, you name it. It's pretty cool, and it's also pretty secure!

Example:
Z284ever's story... has a nice comment about a product made on my equipment...

"At the other end of the economic scale, the $140,000 Ford GT boasts an industry-first use of Azdel SuperLite, a glass fiber/polypropylene compound. Normally used to make roof liners, the GE Plastics product will form the entire interior of Ford’s new 500-hp supercar."
