I just built mine and instantly confirmed my desire to buy a used GT500 instead.

My 2011 Mustang GT Premium was $38,000

GT Premium
Brembo Package
Security Package
3.73 Rear Axle Ratio
HID Headlamps
Shaker 1000 Audio

For less money, I can get all these same options in a more powerful, better looking 2009 GT500 with very low mileage. The only thing I don't get is the 2010+ interior but that's a sacrifice I am willing to make to avoid the 2010+ exterior.

I think this new GT is too darn expensive. But thats just me.

$30890 for the base 5.0 w/ 3.73 gear. Not bad at all. That would be my choice.

That would likely be mine, too. But I'd wait several months to try and get a better deal once all the hoopla died down.

FYI, this has been up for a few weeks. It still in beta and thats why you cannot get to it from Fords main page. It has a lot of bugs and the end total is not reliable.

A major automotive manufacturer has a web site that is known to be inaccurate but is live to the public? That is a PR nightmare and damn near advertising suicide.

Looks like they still have some work to do, it doesn't charge me anything for the brembo package on the regular GT but charges me the $1600 when I select it on the GT Premium. Also don't see anything on their site about choosing a summer tire or a different width tire choice. I thought I had read standard width is 245 but the brembo package jumped you up to 255 summer only tires. They need to get on it and iron this thing out. It's not like this is an unimportant car, who ever signed off on it needs to go back and relook at it.

I think you can only select the brembo brake package(the one that gives you the brembos all the way around) if you get the premium GT. Brembos on the front are standard for mustangs that is why you see it as $0 and selected for the base GT.

I do think they should allow the base GT buyers the option to get the brembo brake package without having to get the premium GT though.

That doesn't sound right to me.

I thought the "Brembo" package bumped the fronts from the standard 12.xx" rotors to the ~14" Brembo rotors / calipers, while leaving the rears alone.

From what I have read is the brake package added tires and rear brembos to the Mustang. The front brembos are standard on the Mustang. Now the package might give you a bigger brembo setup on the front too I am not sure of that.

Its a little different than that you got it kind of backwards:

The other new addition is the Brembo brake package, a $1,695 option that puts a set of 4-piston Brembo brakes up front and leaves the stock rear calipers and aggressive compound pads. Unique 19-inch wheels and tires are mandatory to clear the calipers, which are wider than the standard front twin-piston PBR calipers.

Mine came out to 39k.

My Camaro came out to 36k, but didn't have Nav.

Doesn't matter to me, I won't be getting either. Babies will do that to you.
