Ford VS. Chevy is dead. Through the eyes of a ricer.
Ford vs Chevy
Mustang vs GTO
SVT Focus vs Grand Prix GTP and a possible Ion coupe
Lightning vs Reg. Cab Silverado SS (hopefully)
(Mercury) Marauder vs CTSv
Common guys, its not like performance died when the last Camaro pulled off the line.

The ext cab doesnt, I've been angry about that since announcement. However, if this black regular cab SS makes production - 395 hp w/LS6 heads, T-56 - I think the Lightning owners will be checkin their tails pretty good. We all know how well the LSx engines take to simple mods.
And even if the Reg cab doesnt make production the ZMan brings up a good point. Z06, Ford has nothing to compete with it aside from the Cobra in a straight line and the GT (40) which is going to be 4x more.
Its a good time to be good ol GM boys, Lutz is gonna make sure of that.

Anything coming from the mouths of dedicated fart-rocket ricers is taken with a grain of salt. It's just a phase, the length/intensity of which is directly proportional to one's naivete. The kid who wrote that article will look back in embarrassment one day, right around the time his K-mart special is gettin recycled at the local boneyard.

My opinion, if it doesnt do 0-60 in 5.2 or less, 1/4 in 13.5 or less, and top speed at 160 or more, then it's not performance.
This **** you describe is worthy of heading down to the supermart on sunday afternoon to pick up the grocerices.
except for the mustang vs GTO, but we all know that the mustang is a slow piece of **** relying on the new 2003 SVT to win its races, and the GTO? who knows. How much horse will that thing have, anyway.
The CTSv only has 400 hp. Nice, slow car you know?
Edit:
The Regular cab SS has 395 hp as it sits.
I forgot about the XLR, too. Oh whoops, and the Boneville GXP which is 280 hp.
But hey, performance is dead right?

ricers
Ricers also buy their "performance" parts at pepboys. Anyone else notice the author didn't also have complete sentences, then again I don't speak "gangsta" English. Ford vs. Chevy is not dead, however I do agree its more Domestic vs. Import, and right now the Imports are just jelious that pushrod, low tech, cars are beating their high tech vtech, yo.
One day hopefully this stupid fad will be over and ricers will become a thing of the past. Sometimes I can't believe how ignorant some people can be, but I guess that's the bad side of the internet. Any moron with the ability to punch keys can make his opinion available. The only thing sadder would be that there are people who will read that and believe it.

But the vette is doing a good enough job of beating all of those Fords til the Camaro comes back.

Like someone mentioned earlier, I think it's switched from "Chevy vs Ford" to "Domestic vs Import".

The GT-40 will provide the Corvette with competition, no doubt. It's only dowfall is that it will cost [Dr. Evil]1 beeeeellion dollars![/Dr. Evil]

Sorry, the GT40 or GT or whatever they're gonna call it won't come close to matching a C6 Corvette's value in terms of price, performance and quality. Yes, that is what I expect. As someone said before, anyone can build a world class sports car for over $100,000. Only Chevy has found a way to build a successful, world class sports car with the performance that it offers for less than half that.

I was just replying to super83Z comment that the vette will beat on the Fords till the camaro is back. And the Gt40/GT is a Ford
, one Ford it definitely won't be beating. That was the point i was getting at. I wasn't questioning the vettes value. Bottom line:
Vette=excellent car and an excellent value
GT-40= better car with a good value (if you've got the $$$$) since it'll still beat on the exotics within $30k of it's price range (assuming).
