http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30384522

They still have $21.3 Billion in cash the article says. At least someone is still doing ok.

Just imagine if that cash for clunkers bill passes. Ford would probably be in the black

That's a good result all things considered.

The stock is up 20% already. Glad I bought it back when they were $3.

Ford's current stock price is $5.16.

General Motors is worth $1.70.

Ford has at least twice the number of shares on the market as GM does.

That means at the moment, although the Ford Motor Company is half the size of General Motors, it now has a market value of at least 5 times General Motors.

Given all the resources GM has available, and all the markets GM sells in globally, if it wasn't for GM's debtload it's run up, it would be a steal for any group of investors.

I don't have time to do the number crunching, but I suspect that GM's value right now is a fraction of what the value of Chrysler was when Cerberus bought it off of Daimler, therefore easily affordable to anyone so inclined.

I bought a coupla shares a $2.0 , not expressly for trying to make buck (x-plan), kinda wished I had bought a few more to dump right now.

I bought at 2.01 but I kick my *** every day for not purchasing at 1.01 the month before. I also had a few grand to push at that time and hesitated. I am sooo pissed. I am hoping honestly right now for a GM collapse come June 1st. If that happens Ford will drop quite a bit on fear of them losing suppliers. I can only hope.

Try a market value 12 times that of General Motors. Currently (1:39 Central Time on Friday 04/24) Ford is worth 12.4 Billion and GM 1.03.

For the bargain price of 1 Billion dollars you can buy 34 billion dollars in debt. Act fast!

The 12 Billion to buy Ford would only get you 5.6 Billion dollars in debt.

I tell ya, it's a crazy time.

But you'd also be getting all of GM's property and intellectual property, which is easily worth 34 billion in the right hands. I have to figure that if you could manage the turnaround quickly enough, there's huge value there. Seems like somebody with the money, the knowhow, and the ***** could pick it up and run with it.

Could be true, but 34 Billion in the hole is a heck of a place to start out on any business venture.

I am surprised Kirk Kerkorian hasn't made a move. Something tells me things aren't going to get better, common sense maybe, if he isn't making a move.

You have to wait and see how viable the other two are after GM starts to be pieced off. If the supply chain crumbles the company will fall into the red regardless of how well their money management skills are.
