First production Ford GT delivered !!!!!
I don't know if this belongs here or not. However, with all the interest in the car, I thought it might. It will be interesting to hear Jay Leno talk about his car, when he gets it next week.

The 1st GT (one you see here) was sold through a charitble auction for the price of 557,500 dollars, or about $418,000 over MSRP
.

Hmmmm, I'm just trying to figure out what the pricing of an exotic supercar has to do with the pricing of the GTO.
You do realize that one is a very limited production, mid engined exotic that will have only 3500 units produced??? The other is a standard production car.
People will pay what they will pay. While I don't agree with gouging, current franchise laws that govern car dealerships do not allow the manufacturer to dictate the price that they sell cars for.
Plus, there is one real big difference here............ the GT's are selling at way above MSRP before the cars even get to the dealership. The GTO's were sitting on the showroom floor, and people refused to pay anything above MSRP.
Market price on a vehicle is what one is willing to pay.

Funny thing is... at $150,000 and 3500 units over two years, it is only being outsold by the GTO by a about a 4 to one margin - at least based on the GTO sales rate so far.
