First good look at a G6...
First good look at a G6...
Got my first really good look at a G6 today. Not in a showroom, but in traffic. I find that I get a better feel for a car by seeing it outside, in traffic, doing what cars are built for.
Anyway, although Im still not totally sold on the styling, particularly the rear, one thing really leaped out at me. The car LOOKs well built. Its hard to describe. BMWs have it. The new Cadillacs have it. Even the newer Acuras have it. The car just looks like it was put together right. G6 has that. Its the first non-Cadillac GM product that Ive really gotten that feeling from. Just something I thought Id share.

I think its nice for trying to mature pontiacs image a bit. But at the very least I think something with more umph could be offered side by side.
That may not be neccesary though as the g6 manages to look somewhat sporty without so much plastic, if they could kick that up a notch across the board they would be doing good.

Re: First good look at a G6...
Seen quite a few the past few months (plus someone in my complex has one).
It's not an ugly car, and actually looks pretty attractive. However, it doesn't have any personality, especially compared to the Grand Am.
I know the G6 is better built by light years, but to be honest, if the G6 and the Grand Am were the last cars on earth, I'd be more than tempted to take the Grand Am.

Re: First good look at a G6...
I love the style, its so much more "active" then the Grand Am was. Visualy it looks like along coupe, a very nice profile and it pulls it off better the the Accord and Altima do. I really cant wait for the GTP's. It deffinatly has that well-built look to it, I know exactly what you mean.
I think that its a great car, and I really cant wait to see what it will do when it gets its full model line up.

As for people who disagree with me, I couldn't tell you whether anyone I know would like it or not and am not all that concerned about it. Just sharing what I think.

The G6 is very impressive to say the least and on my list second only to the Colorado to lease next year. G6 is one of the cars that really show that GM is taking steps forward in their offerings. Its nice to see that they're all over the place too.

think about it, if we hadn't been modifying the ic engine as a whole, where would we be?
if it works, it works

I like the G6 fairly well, and would probably consider one for a daily driver if I could afford it. I think it's a huge improvement over the Grand Am, especially in appearance.
