The Firebird should return...
I'm probably in the minority, but I'd like to see the Firebird go more upscale and become more of a Corvette type of car. Leave the GTO for cheap straight line performance in the $30k bracket. Make the Firebird lower, sleeker, more powerful, and be able to pull 1.0+g's on a skidpad. Make it $40-45k and be slightly less powerful than the Corvette. Leave it 2+2 also.
I don't see the GTO as being "cheap" performance, so let the Firebird be the stepping stone to the bigger cars.
Not to say that it should not get the high HP T/A packages, however.
I'd think that a better business case can be built when two divisions (or more) are sharing the same platform.

i know it would make a lot of people mad, but i wouldn't be surprised if they made the firebird and not the camaro, i don't like one more than the other or anything it's just that pontiac seems like it is turning into GM's performance brand (which isn't a bad thing)

My .02 is that the T/A and firebird should be there own car seperate from the camaro. It should be RWD LS1 and below $30,000 for the firebird and T/A for a couple of thousand more. pontiac entry performance bang for the buck.

Itd be pretty cool to have a 2007 awd TTA. That'd be my vote, although I dont know what platform they'd put it on lol.

AWD....

Now that might be something that could make a 5th Gen Firebird Unique to Camaro, even if it ran on the same platform.
Plus, it'd be a "Pontiac Upgrade" kind of thing....
Even though AWD has never been a part of the F-Car history, that might be an interesting way to differentiate the Pontiac from the Chevy.

Muscle cars have always been about RWD-straight-line-haul-*** performance. Let the ricers have their AWD.

Why and how would AWD be ricey?
Also, how is it OK if it cost $100k+ but bad if it cost $20-30k?
