Firebird or GTO poll.
I voted for GTO, since the Firebird didn't really have it's own distinctive traits, other than a better body and interior
. I like the Camaro and GTO lineup because it hits on 2 demographics, not 2 cars aiming for the same type of buyer, and ignoring the buyer who wants a bigger yet rugged and muscular coupe. The GTO is the more mature, perhaps more family friendly of the 2. But with that size and weight, it loses nimbleness and precision to the smaller, lighter weight Camaro.
This is assuming that we're talking the next gen GTO and F5, both benefiting from modern chassis and hardware, not comparing apples to oranges w/ the 4th gen and current GTO.

Ever since I saw Smokey and the Bandit when I was around 5, my biggest dream was to roll a brand new black Trans Am off the lot. All mine nobody else ever owned it. I alwasy felt this was a fair dram, not like wanting to be a millionare with a Ferrari or something. When I found out, that this dream had been stripped from me I was almost in tears.
And while I like teh GTO, I would give it up in a heartbeat to have the T/A dream back

Dump the GTO, it's too heavy. It should have been built on it's own platform.
At any rate, like others have posted, I too, had that dream as a youth of rolling off the lot with a brand new TA replete with screaming chicken of course. I was like, ten when Smokey and the Bandit hit the screen and that black and gold car made quite a lasting impression. Those late second gens were awesome and are still quite fetching as far as I am concerned.
Here's my dilema with this poll. I also have been and still am a fan of the old A-body GTOs - especially 69-70 Judges, not to mention the new car. I have a very hard time picking one over the other (GTO or TA), so I'd really like to have a choice of both - as opposed to one or the other.
The point of course is moot since one is no longer in production and the other is not available north of the 49th anyway. At some point it may be classic GM for me at least when it comes time for a "toy".

#2- Just like it was back in the 60's and 70's right?
I vote GTO. Why spend a bit more money for basicly the same car? Because of the scoops and wing? Have the GTO something that people who drive Camaro's can move up into.
Firebird driver. Guess which way I voted? I would have even voted to drop the Camaro for the Firebird
This is the only good argument for not bringing it back
