We have seen so many times rumors of the Corvette going rear mid-engine or altering the success another way but after reading about how the front engined 599 GTO is Ferrari's fastest car (beating the Enzo) it only illustrates why altering the Corvette's layout would be a bad thing.

That is the most lustful car out there! It is the sexiest machine I've seen. I also like the traditional front-engine layout. It is beautiful.

 

If someone were to show me just the side profile and tell me this was the c7 I'd be satisfied.

Awesome car, but the conclusion that front-engine > mid-engine based on this car beating the Enzo's best lap time around a fairly short track is highly flawed. Mid engine is still best for all-out performance.
