Feeling underwhelmed from NAIAS?

Well we got from GM was the Sonic, Verano, and the All Terrain concept. Each of which, we had seen before hand. I am not sure if all the reveals are over, but they certainly have skipped the stunners this year like the Sixteen, Solstice, Camaro, and so forth. I can't really think of anything all that notable from Ford or Chrysler either?

Went two years ago during the crisis and it was absolutely horrible, went last year and it was only marginally better. Back in 2003, 04, 05, etc it was awesome and absolutely packed with cars. Now . . . not so much. Debating on whether or not I will even go this year.

That's too bad. They should also consider showing current models with upcoming changes such as paint colors, features and interior treatments. The show should be more then "just new models". It would give consumers something to look forward to.

Not much this year from any automaker. Early 2000's were awesome for concept cars.

I also want to know when we are going to see the Z28.

I don't find the autoshows worth going to anymore. With almost everything leaking out beforehand on the internet nowadays, there's not much wow factor left. I if happen to be in the neighbourhood when the show's on, I'll stop by just to see stuff in the flesh. But it's not worth a trip for.

They do this. NAIAS isn't just for show cars. The vast majority of the vehicles on display are the automakers' current wares, so that consumers can check them out. The concepts and new model unveils, while exciting for enthusiasts, are just a small portion of the show itself.

Really? If I am interested in a car, just seeing pictures is not enough. I am likely to dream about it every night until I get my hands on it. Many an auto show I stood behind the ropes looking at my future car and not able to touch it. But at least I saw it in person......and that made the wait even harder. I also enjoy actually sitting in cars I have not had a chance to. Concept cars are so far down on my radar I could care less.

Well lets face it. GM is down to 4 brands, Ford down to 2 and unless Fiat is showing the new 500 Chrysler is down to 3 or 4 if you count RAM seperate. Loosing brands means loosing opportunities to have more potential new vehicle showings or concept cars.

Ford Focus electric looks pretty cool , if you are into EVs or fuel efficiency it was a good year at the NAIAS.

Oh, I think I misunderstood your original post. You meant upcoming changes as in something for the next model year, I guess? I thought you meant they should include the latest and greatest current product, in addition to the redesigned/new model and concept car unveils.

I don't know what they had this year, as I won't make it to NAIAS. Sometimes they do have cars like you mentioned; I guess it just varies by manufacturer.

I thought you meant they should show current product and not JUST the concept stuff. Hence my smilie...

My bad.
