What's really funny, is that being British, he should know that they have NEVER built a car worth a damn......NEVER......at least short of costing the king's ransom in a Rolls.
English cars are near the Italians for being pure crap in terms of reliability.
Sure the Mustang might not be a full out race car, but I bet I could hand this limey his @$$ on Laguna Seca.....
Re: European review of the 2005 GT!
I know that the 2005+ Mustang GT isn't the best car on the twisties but I just really have a hard time seeing it getting beat by a VW GTI.
The 94-98 model GT? Sure. But not the new 2005s.

They dont all think like this.
I read a number of glowing reviews by Euro auto journalists when the 05 mustang first appeared last year. There were quite a number of them imported by private owners. Even with VATS they got them for a steal after the conversion rate.

New GTI's are not light. Hell, the new Jetta weighs 3200 lbs. The previous generation of GTI was constantly ribbed for being fat and not handling as well as other cars in its class (RSX, etc.). Considering the new Jetta got even more bloated, I'd be surprised if the GTI was "light"... Maybe they did a better job with this new one?

And here I usually love Jeremy Clarkson's babbling bs on Top Gear. Yes he is a pompous ***, but he's like that with everyone, brits included. He lost me when he said the Solstice was America's first attempt at a sports car in 50 years. But then I guess he would consider the Corvette more of a quasi-supercar than a true sports car. I can't wait until he drives the Z06 and rips it apart for lacking everything the Porsche and Ferrari have at 3x the price. Then come to think of it, he loved the Ford GT.

You know I just saw this article last night when I was on the Stangnet forums. It never fails to amaze what an a$$clown this guy is. I mean really, I was amazed when I read this last night...But if you want somethin' more amazing check out his review of the new C6. I never thought a car review could be so biased, and so completely ridiculous. The whole first page of it is just anti-American BS, and then that's followed by his trademark bashing of the C6 just as he would do with any American car. He in fact says at the end that he had a ton of fun with and that if his wife weren't so anti-American he'd buy one. And then of course there is a little jab when the Chevy rep asks him how he liked it, he says: “Left-hand drive, vulgar plastic rubbish.” Anyway, here's the link to the C6 review: http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/art...5587_2,00.html
If that doesn't work, then just go to the site: http://www.driving.timesonline.co.uk and go to the Mustang review, from that you can link to the C6 review and all of his other reviews. So enjoy everybody, and if after reading his review of the 'Vette you feel like you want to rip his face off, you can know that you are not alone
I just can't wait to see what he says about the new Z06, he'll probably say it's a piece of junk just like he said when he reviewed the Viper

Re: European review of the 2005 GT!
Ok, what's interesting here... putting any political influences aside.... I used to watch Top Gear regularly when I lived in the UK... Jeremy did a sgement on importing US msucle cars. One such car was the Boss Mustang. His exact words on the subject as best I recall them "If you don't want a car like this, it's 'cause you've got no soul'. No lie. Now someone tell me how the new mustang could be WORSE than this car? Ok, the styling of the new stang is a step backwards (it's ok, but too tall looking compared to a 69/70s fastback), but in every other area the new stang GT is a better made, better performing car. So clearly the review is somewhat biased by other emotions.
