Which engine would be better for the G6 GXP?
Which one of these engine would be a better fit for the G6 GXP?
270HP/250tq 3.9L OHV from the concet. I have no idea how it makes the extra 30hp
260HP/260tq Trubo direct injection 2.0L as used in the Solstice GXP
250HP/258tq Turbo DOHC 2.8L High Feature V6 as used in EP mate the Saab 9-3
I'd take the Solstice Turbo for now, but would the 2.8L take more boost and be better for tuners?

Doesn't matter. The torque in all 3 engines is very close anyways. I would (and did) pick the one with the most horsepower.

I chose the 2.0L DI Turbo, sort of like how the Mazda Speed 6 has the 2.3L Turbo. I wouldn't be disappointed to see the 270hp 3.9L in there either.
However, I'd really like to see the 2.8L turbo putting out around 280hp.

If the G6 GXP wants to deliver the goods and create some real (Pontiac)excitement.....it needs a turbo. Whether it's and I4 or V6 is not as important.

I think a turbo is the exact thing the G6 GXP needs. If you look back turbocharging is a big part of Pontiacs heritage. Pontiac had the Turbo T/A's (2nd and 3rd gen), Sunbird/Grand Am and the Grand Prix. I voted for the Saab V6 with a 6 speed, this drivetrain should be a direct bolt in. Hell I think they should take as much stuff as they can off the Saab 9-3 and add it to the G6 GXP. Just like they did with the Saab 9-7 and the TB SS.
