there will be nothing new in 2005 that will match its power for the price range.

Keep in mind that's an A4 with TQ management in tact...

Torque management is during shifts. There's no shift showing on that dyno, is there?

350rwhp is pretty damn good. That's 400+hp.

Hell yes it's pretty damned good. It's around 421HP with that auto.

The more impressive thing about the LS2 is the TQ curve...something to help get that GTO rolling...

Sorry, but the '05 GTO isn't coming in in the low-mid '30s. They'll be comparable in price.

And the 300C is just as fast as the current auto GTO. So why wouldn't a 6.1 Hemi easily keep up with the GM 6.0?

Curb weight: 4160 pounds

I would bet somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 more than a GTO (MSRP probably around $40,000).

In addition:
"The fuel economy of the 6.1 liter version of the Hemi is far from great, and the 300C SRT-8 will only get about 14 miles per gallon in city driving and 19 on the highway. Because of that it will also be subject to the U.S. gas guzzler tax."

Re: Dyno pull of LS2 GTO

BigBlueCruiser: The '05 GTO will be at or very near it's current price, guaranteed. Just like the C6 Vette is at or below its equivalent C5 price, despite all the new content.

The '04 GTO sold below expectations. They are adding content to make it more desirable. Do you really think they will offset the addition of the LS2, better brakes, hood scoops ( ), and dead pedal by adding 4 grand to the price?

My guess: that 6.1L SRT8 300C will be in the low to mid 40s, at least. The DC guy in the Autoweek article said to look at how they priced the SRT4, SRT6, and SRT10 (Ram) for an idea of where the SRT8 will be, saying they want the best bang for the buck. So I'm guessing the SRT8 will come in a little under the somewhat smaller and lighter CTS-V. The GTO will be considerably cheaper than this SRT8 (it is already cheaper than a 300C Hemi, certainly out the door...).

2005 GTO will be about the same price as the 2004 GTO (which is the same as the 340HP 300C) The SRT-8 300C will probably cost about $40K, A loaded 300C now cost $41K and that is without the $2000 AWD option.

The GTO should be faster since both cars put out around the same HP but the GTO is 400lbs. lighter.

Not true. The current 300c hemi can be had decently equiped for 32k. About the same as or cheaper then the GTO.

Re: Dyno pull of LS2 GTO

Is anyone still paying $32k for GTOs?

Re: Dyno pull of LS2 GTO

If I can buy a 400hp GTO for $32K this time next year.

Then consider it sold.

Re: Dyno pull of LS2 GTO

Assuming the auto still has 18% drivetrain loss. 351 RWHP = 428HP

even at 15% loss that is still 413HP
