This is the same platform as the Outlook right? I really like the Outlook but I have not driven one yet. This Arcadia looks great also.

My wife currently drives a Lexus RX and it is getting some mileage on it and is a little small with no 3rd row. She also really liked the Outlook, and it looks like we can add the Arcadia to the list .

I have no idea. I do sign up for brochures and stuff, participated in one of the GM in Motion events, have a GM CC, and a few previous and one current vehicles financed with GMAC. I'd be interested to find out their selection criteria as well. What's odd is that they sent the promotion invite addressed to my wife. We have her name tied to very few things. Cars are all in my name. The OnStar account has her listed as primary, but that's the extent.

Yes, I believe your right. Outlook, Acadia, and Enclave all built off the Lambda chassis. My wife has some seat time in a friends RX330. If your wife loves the RX she'll be right at home in one of these. The refinement and attention to detail in this vehicle far exceeds GM efforts of the past, and now offers true competition without excuses for other competing offerings.

I have to take it back today. My wife called me this morning, driving her Tahoe, telling me she misses the Acadia. Big surprise there.

just wondering if your wife has the same feelings if she was driving the 2007 tahoe?? I would agree that if I was in the older GMT800 that I would ache to have the newer interiors of the GMT900 and the lambdas.

Good review!

These new Lambdas are sharp vehicles, they will do well for GM.

I was more interested in the Acadia and Enclave when I thought they were going to be more like Lexus RX size. Now I find out they're more Tahoe-sized than anything and as far as I've seen they all have 7 seats which would be an absolute waste on my two person household... - granted I could remove the back row seats but part of me just has a problem with knowing that I paid for those seats and they're sitting in my garage.

Threxx, you wouldn't likely remove the rear seats of an Acadia like you would for a Tahoe. The Acadia (lambda) seats fold flat and become part of the load floor.

Sounds fair to me!

But wait, you guys are getting the G8...

That's almost worse in my situation... dead weight that I paid for and will never use.

Nice review. Saw them at the NAIAS last week. Sure hope they do well for GM.

I totally agree with you. My wife has veto power on all vehicle purchases, and the passenger seat adjustability is the first thing she checks.

Well I'm not gonna save for a lease, which is what I'll be doing for either a 08 CTS or 08 335i. Which one I get depends on how reasonable GM is with lease pricing and how good of a job they do on making it fun to drive.

I drove an XE Outlook I believe Friday.

Mostly highway driving, but the ride was very smooth, interior noise was not too bad. I did see what upsets some people about the 6 speeds, it was jerky at times.

It had decent power, gets good mileage, and has a ton of room. Many positives to pull out of them.

I guess part of me assumed you'd be posting a review on the Sierra a couple of days later... any chance of that or has it already come and gone without enough time for pics and/or detailed impressions?
