I'll have to see the production version in person. I still think it looks better than the Malibu, and probably the G6. I just saw the concept Aura at the Dallas Auto Show, and it looks amazing in person. Someone on C&G said that the Redline version will look more like the concept.

The changes to the front end do not look as nice or aggressive as the concept.

No. Amazing how a few minute changes can dumb down such an attractive concept. Give me the concept's nose, and I'll be 1st in line.

I saw the concept in SF last November. I really liked it. Judging from the production photo I have to say Why did they change it? They had an awsome looking car and then they go and f it up. I'm hoping the photo is just a bad angle but I think they had a hit and now it may be a miss.

I have to say that that picture disappoints me.

The gap between the tires and the wheel openings doesnt look like a 4x4 like the impala SS, the flares don't look as agressive, and the front... why couldn't it be as agressive? Why do they have to dumb everything down?!? grrr...

Didn't Bob Lutz just say that Saturns would be rebadged Opels?

Well here's the Opel Vectra...

Aura looks dumbed down to me.

Re: Does Aura deliver on the concept's promise?

Perhaps the more aggressive front end will show up on a Redline model?

I don't see it as a huge change. The overall look of the car is very much the same. The angle and lighting in the second pic is not as flattering as the first. The "concept" version does look a little sharper, particularly up front AND at the lower edges of the doors / rocker panel area (which are flared out, perhaps to allow the wider, more aggressive wheels and tires that the "concept" had).

Again, I wonder if the more aggressive look (18 or 19 inch wheels, maybe the rocker panel extensions, etc.) will show up on a Redline model in the future, and perhaps the car pictured on the Saturn site is a base or midlevel Aura.

Why don't we wait for the production unveiling next week (when more pics will be out) before coming to conclusions?

I like it. I dont what everyones deal is? I still think it looks like a tight car, still very agressive. Front end looks ok.
The Vectra front end is nice. Is that a standard Vectra or is that a VXR?

Perhaps Joe.

But the caption says "The 248 hp Saturn Aura". Would the RL get more power?

I thought there would be two different models, not counting the Redline. The base 3.5, which I think this one is, and the 3.6/3.9? that will put out around 270 hp. I think the concept look might end up on the 3.6/3.9 variant and not the Redline, but that is just a guess.

I think 248 hp is pretty damn good if that is for the entry model.

Looks good. The bottom grill is smaller and it lost the fender flares (which I 100% expected) Other than that it is the same. Interior is what I hope stays 100% the same.

That is also a very hard picture to judge the car by. I'll be seeing it in NY next Sat. I'll let you guys know what I think.

Re: Does Aura deliver on the concept's promise?

I think it's still looking pretty good. It's about 90% of what the concept is from those pics, and that's not too bad considering. Of course I like the concept front end better. I noticed the wider front bar and bumper as well. Could be safety and/or aero changes.

Can't wait to see the price!

Looks good to me. Although, I'm partial to the Bowtie...
