Dodge performance coupe at SEMA?

There are rumors of a Dodge "performance" coupe appearing at SEMA. This car will probably be the replacement for the Stratus coupe. The name Challenger has been making the rounds. It may be based on the new platform being co-developed by Chrysler and Mitsubishi. This new platform can incorporate AWD or FWD and longitudinal or transverse engine placement. I wouldn't be surprised to see a very healthy turbo motor under the hood.

If not called Challenger...it might be called Super Bee.

So this would not be the LX based RWD car?
If DCX calls a FWD V6 car a "Challenger"....there is gunna be problems with teh Mopar faithful. I dont care if you can get AWD.

Re: Dodge performance coupe at SEMA?

Could there also be a S/C Hemi there....in a truck???

What about an Imperialistic look to a extended LX in production trim???

Challenger to return, but look under the hood.....SixPack???

What car put fear into the heats of the Chevy/Ford guys in the late 60s???

Even you can get your presents early this year.

How can an engine bay be designed for Transverse or Longitudinal mounting?

The Ram is Rumble Bee.

Looks like GM is falling behind again, They need the AWD G6 GXP and Camaro to come out soon.

Re: Dodge performance coupe at SEMA?

I am assuming this is the next in line of the Mitsi cars from Dodge...

First was Avenger (and really Talon and Laser from Eagle and Plymouth respectively)), then Stratus coupe, now this, which obviously runs parellel with the new 2006 Mitsu Eclipse.

You can even trace this line back further if you like with the Chrysler Conquest....

The old LH cars were. Look under the hood of an Intrepid...the engine is mounted longitudinally. The LH platform was designed from the start to be able to be converted to RWD.

Reread I didn't say FWD I said Transverse and Longitudinal. How is the engine bay shaped to accomidate both, Size wise and structurally wise?

Nobody thought this was interesting enough to comment on?

Some of the other rumor mongering I've heard was talking about a vendor having a supercharger ready for the 5.7 hemi now. I had heard rumors about an Imperial coming back...a V6 Challenger maybe and of course the Charger.
They wouldn't show all that at Sema would they?

Why not ? Im sure Chrysler is chomping at the bit to hop on the mustang band wagon and leave GM floundering behind again . Who knows though , GM has been so secretive here as of late , I wouldnt put much past them . Probably gonna be pretty safe to say there "should" ( <--- its just a guess ) be a turbocharged cobalt and if they were wise ....the G6 awd 6 speed coupe in GXP trim should make an appearence .
