Dodge Mega Cab - This is a big truck
Today's opening of the Chicago Auto Show to the media will bring with it the biggest truck cabin yet devised by Dodge. The new Ram Mega Cab has so much room - 44.2 inches of leg room in the back, created by putting a short bed on a long-bed wheelbase and stretching the cabin-that the rear seats recline and fold flat. The Mega Cab sports 145.2 cubic inches of interior space too, leaving no doubt as to why engineers have dubbed it the "Dodge Maybach." Overall the cab is 20 inches longer than the standard Quad Cab and sits at 111.1 inches long, a foot longer than a Ford Crew Cab. Dodge's Cummins turbodiesel or the 345-hp, 5.7-liter HEMI are offered; the latter has a five-speed automatic, the former a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. In heavy-dutiest configuration the Mega Cab tows 15,800 pounds and carries a 2840-lb payload. Options include a navigation system, a power sunroof, and a DVD entertainment system.
I like the new bumper

It's like an "extended crew cab"

I guess this shows the new front end styling... it's not bad, but I like the current nose better.
This freshening makes it look more like the Dakota / Durango in the front...

It does not really look that big to me. I may just be use to my titan crew cab though. I saw a huge chevy truck the other day though. It must have been custom and was owned by an oil company. It was like a double crew cab and still had about a 5 foot bed. Never seen anything like it before.
Re: Dodge Mega Cab - This is a big truck
after driving around my Ram Standard cab Long bed and my brothers F150 Quad Cab Regular bed, I cant even imagine having to drive that around daily or park it. Hope it has one of those parking sensor things so you dont back over things.

Mega Cab, eh...? Wow... So, next thing left to do is to add a door or two, I guess. ***shrug***

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not the Dakota front end end
Well now I can put the Dodge Ram into the ugliest truck catergory along with other greats like the Dakota, Titan, Honda Ridgeline, and body cladding Avalanche.
I am so p!ssed that Dodge had to ruin what I thought was one of the best looking pick up trucks ever made(definetly the best looking pickup since the 67-72 Chevy)

Re: Dodge Mega Cab - This is a big truck
That cab is a tab bit excessive...
The funny thing is that if it's produced its going to sell. People seem to want bigger and bigger cars/trucks. Looking at how cars have grown in size substantially over the past two decades, it really makes me wonder how much bigger they can practically get.

While I think I like the current front end better than the "Dakota-zied" front end... I at least give them credit for making an appearance change rather than letting it run for like 10 years or whatever the previous generation of Ram went without a single significant appearance change.

I like the front end better than the Dakota, but not as much as the current Ram.
