Diesel Hybrid Pickup coming in 2010
The front end is very mid 90's Tacoma and the cab/bed screams late 70's/early 80's Toyota/Datsun.
It's actually not a bad looking truck, but if they can keep the price mid 20's (for the reg cab??? or crew??? HUGE difference in price!) it should sell pretty well.

Well for years now I've heard people saying hybrid > diesel or diesel > hybrid and I've always questioned those people why not combine the two? I see no reason it wouldn't make sense but since it has yet to be done maybe there is a reason I'm not seeing (my best guess is increased cost).
So this is finally what I've been waiting or, though it isn't coming from a company or vehicle that I expected to see it from first.
Pretty ugly looking vehicle right there...

My cousins work in long beach and even though they aren't car people they can help but to notice that these ships come in every week to the pier and download thousands of Toyotas into this parking lot. Then these two old men push around a shopping cart and intall hub caps and wipers. I wondered if those cars are assembled in the USA too?
Interesting truck, dont know if companies are willing to pay $10K for that over a ranger.

A SMALLER "compact" S-10 Sized truck styled after the Tahoe/Avalanche with a 35 mpg diesel would be an AWESOME truck (and GM, DO NOT forget the manual, unless, of course, it's a hybrid diesel.)

They'll sell for sure at that price.
...and NOT put them in a piece of crap truck like the colorado (when compared to the competition's offerings).

The quality, fit and finish are not up to par at all. Just look at how the grill/fenders/hood fit together. The door and interior gaps are large as well, and the interior looks incredibly cheap. Engine and trannys are OK, but nowhere near best in class. The ride and handling are OK as well. It is not a bad truck at all, but when you compare it to the new nissan and toyota offerings, it's just not there. It should be a lot better than a ranger, they haven't had a significant update in about 15 years
I've ridden in an '05 Dakota, it was a pretty nice truck.
That all said, I would consider buying a used sunset orange metallic ex cab Colorado Z71 someday... I think they look good
I own an o5 tacaoma (the NBS) and it's significantly better inside and out than the Colorado.
