So I was going through my 5+ years of Motor Trend Magazines, back when they had fbodies on covers. lol. Anyhow, as i was going through, one thing caught my eye, it was a Yellow Caddie on the cover advertised as "Eldoroadster", A Corvette Power Caddilac luxury roadster.
I have the article if anyone wants, will scan it in. But in short, even back in 97, they started talking about it. Stating how it is the baby idea of Dave Hill. Congrats to Hill.

Ok, saw those, and saw the production XLR, um, talk about spitting image. and as the article says....tall vertical lights and stretched gril... even the wheels are kinda close, minus a few spokes.
It's pretty good considering it's Motor Trend. Seems they got that right on the head.
I also remember they had a issue that hammered the looks of the 1998 Camaro redesign on the head as well. I believe this was in early '96
!
They were definately on a winning streak back then.

That's about the time there started to be rumors of the Firebird going to the Corvette Platform if I'm not mistaken. Maybe they started by looking at different vehicles they could move to the Y-body to make it more affordable.
