Did The Ram Get A Facelift For 2006?

Looking at pictures of the 2006 Dodge Ram, and the advertisements for the new Mage Cab, it looks like the Ram is a little different this year. The grille looks more like the Dakota, less round, and more angular. Is this my eyes playing tricks on me, or what?

I believe it is the restyle. If you ask me, both the last one and new one are both absolutely awful.
I do like the Dakota though.

Complete opposite here. Dakota = Ram =

So this the new Ram, huh? I thought the 1994-2001 trucks were the coolest looking trucks ever made, from a visual standpoint. In 2002, when the first redesign came about, I thought it looked awful. The grille, the whole front end, really, just looked too big and bulky. The 2006s look a little better, not quite as humungous, but I think the old ones were the best.

Right there with ya. Glad to see I'm not the only one anymore.

If you like them so much, buy my '99.

Lower it to $1000 and I'll consider. I'm paying my way through college, so money is a LITTLE bit tight right now. Unless you want to trade for my '95 Mercury Sable.

I have to admit though, the interiors on the newer ones are really nice, even on the lower end models.

Which newer ones? My uncle recently traded his 99 I believe (old style) for an 03 IIRC. We were doing some work on my car and I got to use it to go pick up a few parts. I must say it was very nice. Had some nice wood trim and looked laid out pretty well. I liked the interior, the V8, and the way it rode. If only it wasn't so ugly...

Anything from the first restyle, really, but the '06's are the nicest. Yeah, if the outside wasn't so ugly, I would want one bad. The 2006 exterior design isn't as good as the older ones, but it's a heck of a lot better than the '02-'05 versions.

Actually, it's not just a restyle on the RAM - I believe it's "all new" with new frame and all. It's just extremely hard to tell. Other than the restyled front end, essentially looks like the same truck.

Agreed. The Dakota is incredibly ugly.

I didn't like the '02 Ram when it came out, but it's grown on me tremendously. Not sure I like this facelift, though.

I do like the new, skinnier-spoked 20" wheels.

Hmm, thought it was just a facelift. Good to know.
One of these days, I'd like to see that megacab. That thing has to be huge.

I don't totally understand the trend nowadays to completely redesign trucks and have them look 95% the same as the previous model, but I guess consistency works in the truck segment. The new Explorer is the same way - supposed to be "all new" but other than the grille, I can't differentiate it from the previous model.

I'd like to see a megacab as well. It looks ginourmous just from the pictures I've seen and the backseat leg room looks almost as good as the front!
