Re: Delphi asks bankruptcy court to void UAW contracts

The future is bleak for Delhi's workers whichever way they go. But they must realize that lower wages/lower benfits >>> much lower wages/no benefits that they can earn elsewhere. If they really are so stubborn and authorize a strike, they will never return to work. I hope Miller sticks to his guns, and does not give the union a higher offer - UAW fully recognizes the possible outcomes - and common sense should prevail.

Furthermore, Ford did not make the money from their finance department. The money Ford made was due to the 4Q '05 selling of Hertz for billions. That is what pushed them into profit.

There's some irresponsible actions being taken by Delphi management. If GM has ANY clout and weight with them, they should make Delphi feel it.

If Delphi stops making parts and supply to GM dries up, it will be the classic case of the tail wagging the dog. Hopefully GM haven't played all their cards yet and have a contingency plan up their sleeves. The top people at GM must have run this scenario as one of a possible outcomes for Delphi and hopefully set about looking for alternative suppliers to fill the demand. If that's not the case, GM could be really screwed.

They have been too busy trying figure out a reason why the finances have been off for the past 6 years.

Delphi? I was a year off when I said that it would cause GM's it's bankruptcy. I said last year that GM would have to file "before the end of '06" however I anticipated Delphi to happen a year earlier.

Furthermore, when is the last quote you've heard from Lutz about future product? You havent.

Expect New York to light up many "this is confirmed" "that is confirmed" pieces in an attempt to barage the media with headlines of what is coming and ahead of schedule including NA RWD.
