Some jacka$$ told my brother the same thing a year ago when he bought his Impala. He told him the Camaro's would be back in 05. I don't believe it myself.

So a Ford dealer not only told him to postpone his purchase because a better car is in the pipeline, but also told him that that car is sold by another manufacturer?

Not exactly your 'salesman of the month' candidate, I'm guessing.

Is anyone else absolutly sick of the lack of knowledge that most sales staff have? My girlfriend went to testdrive a new GTO a couple of weeks ago and the salesperson promptly directed her to the Grand Ams. Stuff like this makes me sick. These people should have at least some rudementary mechanical knowledge about the cars they are trying to peddle to the unsuspecting public.

Its sad when every single car I have ever test driven has been featured by a salesperson who did not know as much about the car as I did. As a salesperson, I now understand why people actually enjoyed buying a car from me...

I also have a better appreciation for my education, and am glad I now only sell on Saturdays I firmly believe in the eyes of a dealership owner, anyone is qualified to sell a car. And when you look at the high pressure, idiotic tactics most dealerships use, its no wonder intelligent people don't want to sell! If the dealership I work for was like the mass of crap I have visited, I never would have sold in the first place...

If you want to get a job selling cars, when they ask you why you want to work there, all you have to say is to make a lot of money, and you're hired. It's pretty lame.

I get pretty irritated by other people who sell, but don't know ANYTHING about the product.
