Customer Service - US OEM's are getting the picture.
Customer Service - US OEM's are getting the picture.
Please read THIS LINK.
Lincoln on top for the first time, with an unprecedented score no less.
Buick comes in 2nd.
Caddy 4th.
Isn't it nice to see that the US OEM's are getting the message that service means as much to some folks as a good price? In fact, good service can often mean more sales... well DUH.
I take this as yet more positive indication that the US automakers - ALL of them - are seeing the light, and are on heir way to hammering-back some of the imports. Now if Joe Q. Public would disregard his paradigm about Toyota and Honda and give the US guys another shot at his business...
And on a smaller note - I think we are seeing some early results of Ford's effort to get Lincoln and Mercury back on track. Having the best service can only help to ensure you maintain current buyers as repeats, and the good word of mouth gets others into the showroom. Now where are the hot-looking, dolled-up cars and SUVs needed to get those sales... like a Cougar, SVT LS, blown Marauder, blown Navigator, SVT Aviator...
Parting blow - with all the complaints about the quality of the Hummers, it blows me down to see Hummer ranked 11th in customer satisfaction with dealer service. I guess that means that you are there a lot, but they are good at accomodating your "frequent visits"?!?!

The Toyota brand was rated below average, although its score rose to 845 points in 2004 from 807 a year ago. Customers complained about long waits for maintenance work and some confusion about service charges.

I still cant get my head around the idea of complaining that you bought a 6400lb vehicle and are suprised to find it gets poor fuel mileage.
Thats like buying a house at the end of one of Chicago O'Hare's runways and complaining about the noise.

Lets be realistic for a moment. Yes, GM finished decent in this survey... but ask yourself, brand dedication aside, who do you think builds a BETTER and more RELIABLE car?
