Yea, when buying used, I find it VERY hard to find a manual in any car anymore. I also don't agree with the "image" statement when you have an auto, but, to each his own.
This coming from an M6 owner.

I'll take a manual over an automatic any day. Just alot more fun to drive, except when in a long traffic jam :P

Re: CTS-V LS2 Automatic

I'll probably buy an automatic (as long as it is a 6 speed) in my next car since I have 19 stop lights on my 6 mile commute to work each day.

I dunno.. I really like manual..

Never even sat in a Ferrari. but all those reviewers, that toss them around the track seem to like their paddle shifters.. You toggle the paddle and you get a perfect up or down shift every time, faster than a human can do it with a conventional manual shifter... although the suspension reacting to the shifts is kinda insane too.. Your shifts are faster, and you hvae less to worry about, so you can concentrate more on actually driving through turns, which should make your lap times faster....... Sounds intresting in my book..

Some of you guys crack me up....... to argue which is better, a manual or an automatic.. lol. I have a few 4th gens. Autos and sticks. Each has their merits as well as flaws.

Which also means it takes less skill to be able to drive a car such as a Ferrari around a race track.

Or you can argue someone with equal skill can be even faster with a paddle shifter than they would be in a comparable car with conventional stick

Or simply, if you are in a Ferrari, the expectation bar is raised.. and it would be sure embarassing if you get you get beat by, say, someone in a Z06..

Borg Warner is not building the 6L80E. That is a GM Powertrain developed (and built) transmission.

B-W might be a supplier for components in the transmission (I have no idea), but they are not building the transmission and selling it (like they have done with the T56 manual, for example). GM is building the 6L80E.
