Is The CTS Coupe Concept Really On Sigma??
I did wonder what was going on when I saw the rear end shot of the CTS coupe, and its undercarrage didnt look Simga.
Funny...the Zeta Camaro concept was built on a modified Sigma...
the sigma CTS coupe concept was built on Zeta?

This is yet again, another one of those "funny" concepts.
To the best of my knowledge they didn't allow media ANY under carriage pics, and from seeing it in person, it seems quite shorter than Sigma would be!
The rear could be a Getrag. The Solstice also uses the Getrag diff as well. So, we either have a Zeta or an Alpha it would appear. Seems to be that Sigma is ruled out, eh?
No not at all. It's wheelbase is more consistent with Sigma than Zeta - but of course they can do anything they want with a concept.
As far as Alpha, forget it. If anything Alpha is a bunch of math right now.
BTW, Zeta won't use a Getrag.

Seems like there's some figuring out to do and Z you've gone a great job, but seeing this car in person really raised some eyebrows. It's just too small to be Sigma and couple that with the fact that I requested a CTS be moved next to the Coupe and was denied.
I hate to think it was my good looks that made that not happen, but rather something else.

Never make an error in a press release? Somehow I doubt that. I don't care if it has to go through 500 people...it will happen.
If it isn't sigma, though, then so much for my assumption that it would be going into production alongside the CTS sedan in the very near future. It has the exact same interior, for pete's sake. It looks 100% production ready (except for the too-big wheels, as are requirements on "concept cars").
Hell, as someone pointed out in the original thread about this car, the sneak peak of Lutz lifting the cover on what we thought was the new CTS was actually a very early sneak peak of THIS car.

I'm no Sherlock Holmes but....
1) This is the CTS coupe to be built along side the SIGMA CTS sedan and SIGMA CTS wagon in the same SIGMA plant.
2) It has the same front end as the SIGMA CTS sedan.
3) It has the same interior as the SIGMA CTS.
4) It's rear suspension and diff are SIGMA.
5) It has the identical wheelbase as the SIGMA CTS.
I think it's Sigma....

What if this was a Zeta-Luxury? Though I dont understand why they would take the front of Zeta and put it on the rear of Sigma, and not the other way around. Looking at the two of them, the Zeta rear suspension looks to be a smaller package and offer teh same performance then Sigma's.
Sounds reasonable :dunno:. SLA and struts can use close to the same mounting points so it wouldn't be the toughest change in the world. Maybe they're switching to double-pivot struts like BMW uses in their cars, although that would negate most of the cost savings. However it would seem odd for the sedan to have the more sophisticated front suspension when the coupe is likely to cost more and have more of a performance mission.
