Which threads do you follow most closely?

 

I voted “Z28 threads” because anything to do with a future Camaro spikes my interest the most. I'm getting so incredibly sick of the "which is the top model, SS vs. Z28" threads. I read the GTO and Mustang threads just to keep up with what’s going on in the industry but I don’t follow them like I do the specific 5th gen threads.

 

Some Z28 news would be more then welcoming, but we don't have much info on the 5th gen anyways. Seems like GTO, Mustang, vette, etc... are the hotter threads for the time being.

 

I think its hillarious to see the Mustang guys get all flustered when you call the 05 Stang retro/based off the 67. That definitely gets my vote.

 

Hmm... I would have to say Camaro threads in general

I voted GTO threads. The only Z28 threads that e get are the Z28 versus SS threads. And really, I'm VERY TIRED OF SEEING THEM!!!!!! Wait maybe no one heard me there. Let me speak up *cough*cough* I'M SICK AND TIRED of Z28 versus SS threads or when other threads follow down that path.

I think expressing the hatred of the 2005 Mustang is as intellectually stimulating as watching the grass outside my front door grow.

I think the GTO threads contain more future news on products, engines, future 5th gen platforms, and misc stuff that anything else listed in that poll. By misc stuff I mean watching how GM is changing how it does business by tapping into global resources to expand their line ups. Global integration is what is going to get us the Solstice which will be based on a platform to be shared with Opel, right? I learn the most about how GM works and the process in which cars are developed and approved through those threads. The mechanics of GM I find fascinating. The GTO threads I think contain the most interesting info due to the nature of the car itself.

I keep on visiting this board though due to most of the intellectually stimulating discussion we have over so many topics. The 5th gen info is great, but the overall maturity in which we discuss peacefully various car topics is wonderful. This 5th gen board is very very unique on the web due to the overall maturity level we have, the amount of knowledge that all of us have of the workings of GM and future models, and the "in the know" people that give us direction on so many issues (RP, ProudPony, guionM, PacerX). To you guys, I very much thank you for enlightening us enthusiasts.

 

I have to admit....the Z/28 vs SS threads are my favorites, and I'll tell you why.

Certainly no other topic on this board displays so much emotion. I find the lively debate both stimulating and interesting. And you have admit....the debate is ever evolving.

We've gone from which one is better, to clearly and succinctly defining each one. How extremely educational.

Can you imagine if these debates were on StangNet or BON.....Ford would be committing to memory every last syllable written, and then sending every last one of us personal surveys.

I like talking about Camaros. I don't mind the occasional Mustang or GTO thread, but I come here to hear about the possiblity of a 5th gen Camaro.

 

Camaro threads seem to be circular. Every month or two someone talks about engine choices, IRS and a few other things theyd like to see on the new car, say maybe a 5 speed automatic. I look at them everyonce in a while, but they tend to repeat quite often. I really dont like the Z/28 vs. SS threads. No one ever changes anyones mind.

GTO threads I read because they have future insight. I can learn about whats happening in the future.

Mustang threads, well thats just classic GM vs. Ford. Some bash the stang and some love it. I think its a pretty sweet lookin car and itll sell pretty well.

What you didnt mention was Import threads. Those threads I like, but they are also where you see the most ignorance. If a fast import comes out most people will say its "ugly" or it doesnt run the same et. as a Camaro. The Evo thread for example. The car got very few praises and mostly was bashed. The only performanc aspect of the car brought up was the 13.8 magazine et. Sometimes people seem to forget that there are other cool cars out there besides V8 and RWD.

It's a time-sensitive question you're asking. A few months ago, GTO news was undeniably THE place to be for excitement, because we knew little and we were just getting our first look at the prototypes, and let's face it; it's the nearest-term RWD V8 coupe we have to look forward to. However as time went by and the GTO unknowns were starting to be answered, clearly the Z/28 speculative buzz has dominated the scene, even though we have pretty much nothing to go on from the horse's mouth. So I voted Z/28.

 

I think they all have their importance, (maybe not the M*stangs ) but Z28 vs. SS is the most passionate subject. You all know I voted Z28 vs. SS, didn't have to tell you.
