Latest from the Chrysler grapevine....

There will be a 300C 2 door and a Charger 2 door. The DCX "ponycar" seems likely to be called 'Cuda. Don't know if it will be a Chrysler 'Cuda or Dodge 'Cuda. It won't be Plymouth, contrary to rumors, Plymouth will remain most assuredly dead.

Regarding the Dodge performance coupe with a "six pack", which was rumored to be revealed at SEMA. Well it never materialized. But the conventional wisdom is that it would have been a Stratus coupe replacement, with an SRT tuned high output V6, and called Challenger.

Have you heard anything about when we may expect to see the coupes? Will the 2 door Charger be released with the sedan or after? Thanks

The scuttlebutt from SEMA says to watch for a coupe and convertible at NAIAS.

SO we should see some DCX coupes in 2 months.

It will be a sad sad day when the 05 Mustang gets a competitor and its not Camaro. If Dode makes a car to go head to head with the stang there will be no market left for a Camaro.

Although I can't bring myself to buy a Mustang, a 'Cuda would work nicely.

If you look at AutoWeek online's SEMA page, you'll find a West Coast Customs 2-door 300C convertible. The description says 12 inches were chopped from the floor pan. It at least give you an idea of what a two-door may look like on that platform. WC's is a dead-ringer for a Bentley.

Look in the AutoWeek at SEMA gallery.

Thanks for the good news! I'm looking forward to these ponycars ...

Yeah, if DCX comes up with a Mustang competitor called 'Cuda, and is faithful to it's heritage, and comes with a manual trans.........well....that would be irresistable.

That 300c looks a little odd.

I still hate the grill.

Now slap an aero nose and monster wing to the Charger 2 door, call it Daytona and maybe you've got something there.

I wouldn't be suprised if there was no manual available. The LX chassis apparently was never made with a manual in mind. If they do make a coupe with a manual, it will have to be PVO that puts it in there.

I personally am still waiting to see what the Daytona will look like when it is unveiled at the Daytona 500 next year. The LX coupe that is suppose to be at NAIAS is only a concept, but is said to be very close to what will come about a year later.
