A Firebird? I mean, if the idea of the GTO and Camaro being built off the Zeta chassis had the Firebird dead, does this new XP54 chassis mean that there could be a possiblity of bringing back both Fbodies on this new chassis?
It sounds like Chevy would have a Zeta and XP54 coupe. Could the same happen with Pontiac?
Tell me Im not the only one who thought of this?

 

GTO + Solstice = No more Firebird.

 

I think pontiacs version of the XP54 will be the BMW M3 fighter/ sunfire replacement. Pontiac will have a gap if they go from small Kappa to large Zeta with nothing RWD in between. I dont think we will see that car named firebird...

 

1. The GTO is a flop.

2. The roadster market is flat.

Maybe the idea of a 2+2 coupe is more viable than either a 4-seater that looks like a sedan or downmarket 2-seater with near-zero practicality.

 

at the gathering, scott settlemier (sp) said that the firebird was dead but did mention some stuff about an upcoming camaro. Dont forget that '07 would be the "40th ann." for the camaro (if you count the years it went away)

 

The Mid sized Kappa is scheduled to be a mid sized sedan. It will be a size down from the Kappa, and currently it's a Pontiac & Holden car.

Beyond that there are plenty of possibilities, but that's where it's at right now, best I can find.
